Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Science Associate Practitioner to join our Research & Development Laboratory Team at York Teaching Hospital.

We are an experienced team with dedicated research specific laboratory staff consisting of 2 staff, who, under the supervision of the Biochemistry Manager, offer laboratory assistance to a range of research studies across York and Scarborough Hospitals.

Please note: the main work base for the post holder will be at York Hospital, with expectations to be able to travel and work at Scarborough Hospital as required. The standard working hours to cover will be between 08:00am and 6:00pm Monday - Friday, some weekends may be required.

Main duties of the job

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated addition to our team, who we expect will be able to help us provide an efficient, high quality and flexible Laboratory Medicine service in support for various clinical research projects.
  • Carrying assessment of capacity and capability to deliver laboratory support for new research projects is a substantial part of this role.
  • Clinical trials require very careful administration and adherence to research protocols & laboratory manuals and is subject to external inspections.
