An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Band 3 Healthcare Assistant within the Crisis Intervention Team for Older People (CITOP) due to the expansion of the team’s current role. The CITOP team supports adults predominately aged over 65 in the Hull and East Riding area with both functional and organic illness.

Moving forward the CITOP team will be extending their operating hours to provide 24-hour Crisis intervention and Home treatment for Older adults across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire. CITOP will be provide four Community Crisis Beds for older adults as an alternative to inpatient care and The Acute Community Service will be extended to provide a seven-day service.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced healthcare Assistants to work under the supervision of a healthcare professionals to support them and help patients on their journey back to full health.

Main duties of the job

The Health Care Assistants  play a vital role in delivering high standards of care to patients at the Trust. Working in a busy clinical environment, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure all patients are cared for and treated with dignity and respect and receive the highest quality of care. Duties will be varied and will include:

  • Demonstrate what it means in practice to promote and provide person centred care treatment
  • Support by obtaining valid consent, and carrying out risk assessments
  • Work in partnership with the individual, their carer, families and the wider healthcare team
  • Promote clinical effectiveness, safety and a good experience for the individual
  • Making patients comfortable
  • Talking and listening to patients
  • Involving patient in there care and promoting recovery within he community
  • You will also gain experience in gaining a number of key clinical skills throughout the programme.
