Band 2 – Healthcare Assistant – Paediatric Emergency Department
We are looking to recruit a band 2 Health Care Assistant who will contribute to the development and delivery of compassionate, high-quality care for children and young people. Potential for Band 3 following Care certificate and competency completion.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time band 2 Healthcare assistant in Paediatric A+E at St Helier Hospital. Applicants must have experience in a paediatric clinical setting and have evidence of personal development. Excellent team working and interpersonal skills will be required; and previous paediatric experience is essential.

Undertake vital signs
Provide enteral feeding needs to children with complex needs
Supporting children and people with mental health crisis
Extended skills, such as ECG and venepuncture with training
Assisting with stock ordering
Job summary
Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse who delegates tasks to the post holder. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will deliver high quality nursing care to children and young people (CYP), as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role. The registered nurse retains accountability for the care delivered by the HCA
