An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and hard working Healthcare Assistants to join Ward 17 team . If you enjoy working in a busy and acute Haemato/oncology environment this job will be of a personal interest to you.

Ward 17 is an 18 bedded ward which accommodates both male and female patients. All patients have individual side rooms. The ward's speciality is Haematology however we care for a wide range of patients with differing medical issues also. Training will be provided with reference to any specific requirements within our speciality.

Main duties of the job

• Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual- Assist patients with personal hygiene, toileting and use of continence aids- Support Moving and Handling, use of mobility aids, correct patient positioning, assess pressure areas and skin integrity- Developing positive relationships with parents, families and carers

-to undertake clinical skills such as venepuncture and cannulation, ECG, blood glucose monitoring etc
