Permanent vacancies has arisen in the Treatment Centre for a Band 3 HCA.

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team on a busy day surgery.  We are a highly motivated team who enjoy developing and supporting staff whilst driving towards excellence in quality and safety of patient care. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills  and willing to learn new skills in this diverse environment.

Main duties of the job

To work under the supervision of a qualified nurse to ensure the efficient and effective provision of the full range of nursing duties to patients who require surgical and endoscopy procedures.

The applicant must have a caring attitude, excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a wider healthcare team.

Key Duties

Cannulation

Venepuncture

Undertake ECG testing

The testing and result recording of clinical specimens

Complete the admission process for patients ensuring correct documentation

Having the responsibility of Local Anaesthetic lists under the supervision on a Staff Nurse

Maintain a healthy, safe working environment

Work closely with other departments, where applicable

Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.

Comply with infection prevention and control (IP&C) policies and procedures as appropriate to their role and responsibilities in their individual work setting. Staff are required to be personally accountable for their actions and be responsible for their won compliance in relation to IP&C polices, protocols or advice
