Band 3 Health Care Assistant - Thurrock Day Hospital

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Band 3 Healthcare Assistant with an interest in general physical health for this exciting opportunity to work within the Thurrock Day Hospital.  The Day Hospital is  a clinic based service working mainly out of Thurrock Community Hospital but with other clinics elsewhere in Thurrock. The service delivers Complex Wound Care Clinics, management of Peripheral lines, ECG monitoring and 24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to carry out clinical appointments within Thurrock Day Hospital and Corringham Integrated Medical and Wellbeing Centre under the direction of the registered nurse. You will also be expected to carry out administrative functions such as basic equipment ordering, stock management and patient appointment and waiting list booking.

The successful applicant must be flexible, a good team worker, used to working under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and IT skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and other members of the MDT. The successful applicant would also need to hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in health and social care .

We are interested in hearing from experienced healthcare assistants or social care workers with proven clinical and communication skills to work as part of our friendly, supportive and innovative team. Previous experience in a community setting in the NHS is highly desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice to assist the registered clinician to undertake comprehensive and holistic assessments.
