We’re seeking a highly experienced, dynamic and values-driven Head of People Services to lead and deliver a professional, responsive and safe HR service that supports managers and colleagues day-to-day, while driving high standards of employee relations, accountability and compassionate leadership.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of People, this pivotal role is a senior member of the People and Culture team and will oversee all aspects of operational HR, such as managing highly complex employee relations including sexual safety and reducing avoidable employee harm, workforce policy and governance, modernising and digitising HR processes.
Proactive service delivery of professional People Services and Workforce Policy & Governance Service to WAST including the delivery of specific elements within the People and Culture Strategy, ensuring effective and appropriate strategic people management approaches are in place to support service delivery.
Operational HR leadership a member of the directorate senior leadership team, leading compassionately and overseeing the provision of efficient and customer focused services to the Trust. Able to deliver high quality outcomes. Managing, motivating and developing the team to achieve objectives and ensure the continuous development, designing and implementing individual and team development plans.
Expert, high-quality advice and support provision across the Trust in a timely way to support the organisation
Employee Relations: Provide expert leadership on complex and sensitive ER cases, service reconfiguration and cultural change.
Governance & Risk: Drive assurance across policy, job evaluation, employment practice and advice and staff engagement. Consistency in managing workforce risk and reducing harm — physically, psychologically and culturally, championing safe working practices, early intervention and supportive line management
Project Delivery related to area of responsibility and modernising the workplace and workforce.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
