You will provide strategic nursing leadership for our community nursing services, ensuring safe high-quality and patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

• The Head  of Nursing will provide senior leadership.
• The postholder will support the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) to manage the operational performance of community services.
• The post holder acts as delegated lead for safety, quality, governance and patient experience.
• The post holder will work with the service to develop the strategic direction and vision which maximises business efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility and staff morale.
• They will support the development of a culture within community services, which is open and transparent that supports and empowers innovation, creativity and learning both at all levels.
• The Head of Nursing will provide strong visible and professional leadership to nursing and allied healthcare staff across community services.
• They will be accountable for the direct delivery of safe, effective clinical care and will advise the Senior Management Team on professional nursing and other clinical staff groups (AHPs) issues.
• The postholder will be the  service lead and link for both the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Director of Nursing on all nursing related matters.
• The Head of Nursing will work with senior managers across the organisation to ensure effective patient flow whilst maintaining quality of care.
• The post holder will participate in the Trust's on call rota.
