Job overview

Are you looking to dip your toe into the world of specialist nursing cancer care? An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the UHD Head and Neck CNS team for a maternity cover fixed term or secondment working across both sites of Bournemouth and Poole hospital.  The successful applicant will work alongside the current Head and Neck Cancer CNS Team based in Poole, however with services moving to Bournemouth there will be a need to work here on occasion.

The Band 6 Head and Neck Cancer CNS plays a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, holistic care to patients with suspected or confirmed head & neck cancer throughout their pathway — from diagnosis through treatment to survivorship or palliative care.

The postholder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing expert nursing support, specialist education, and coordination of care. This includes supporting patients and families emotionally, practically, and clinically, while ensuring timely access to investigations, treatments, and follow-up care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse who is keen to make a difference in the care of those experiencing a life changing diagnosis.  We need someone who is highly organised, motivated to learn, with excellent communication  and team working skills.

This role requires NMC Registration.
