If you do then the Surgical Directorate is currently looking for Health Care Support Worker for an exciting role on Ward 16

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team assisting with patient care and  other departmental-related duties as directed by a Registered Nurse to ensure kind, safe, and compassionate care for patients.

  • Making sure patients are comfortable
  • Helping patients move around
  • Washing and dressing patients
  • Taking basic observations and updating patient records
  • Keeping departments tidy and ensuring equipment is clean
  • Serving meals and helping patients eat
  • Administering medication to patients
  • Collecting, storing, and labeling biological specimens
  • Keeping hospital supplies properly stocked and organized
  • Working closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists in order to provide patients with exceptional careSupport workers may also provide physical and emotional support, encourage and support the development of personal skills, and help with household tasks
