Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one full time Group Capital Development Procurement Officer to join the Capital Development Team responsible for applying Accountancy Controls over the monitoring and analysis of the NLAG and HUTH Capital Programme Expenditure in conjunction with the Technical Planning and Capital Accountant, to analyse financial data using the various computerised financial systems in place within the Trust.

We are seeking to recruit a Band 5 Group Capital Development Procurement Officer comprehensive financial support to our Capital Development Team. The successful post holder will use own initiative, discretion and judgment in delivering a variety of tasks, whilst working strictly to the guidelines and policies in the Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders. Prior experience dealing with Capital expenditure within the Capital Programme environment is essential to this role.

We are looking for a skilled, motivated and highly organized individual for this role. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required at all time

Main duties of the job

Must have high levels of numeracy and IT skills.

Must be able to prioritize, maintain own workload, be proactive and have the ability to work unsupervised.

Knowledge of financial implications to major developments and the ability to liaise with project manager leads to ensure that financial data is submitted in a timely way – follow up with suitable actions where there is non-compliance, is essential. Understand and apply the principles of the NHS Vat recovery in relation to all transactions, is essential. Knowledge and understanding of JCT and NEC contracts is desirable.

The post will be supported by, and be an integral part of, our Capital Development team.
