Following an expansion of our nationally recognised service, we are seeking a motivated Audiologist to join our team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. This post is specifically designed as a developmental gateway for an early-career professional or a recent graduate looking to specialise in the paediatric field.
As a Band 5 Graduate Paediatric Audiologist, you will benefit from a structured internal training programme covering paediatric assessment and (re)habilitation for children from 6 months of age. You will initially work alongside our senior clinicians, gaining exposure to specialist cases and evidence-based protocols, before transitioning to an independent caseload as your competencies develop. Joining this UKAS-accredited, forward-thinking department offers an unparalleled opportunity to build a robust clinical foundation within a nationally recognised centre of excellence.
This predominantly clinical role offers experience across a comprehensive range of paediatric assessments and (re)habilitation challenges. Your journey will begin with a structured training focus on behavioural hearing assessments for children aged five and over, providing a solid foundation before expanding into complex assessments for younger children and infants. As your clinical competencies evolve, you will take on increasing responsibility for leading and assisting in clinics for children from six months of age, including the management of routine hearing aid reviews and supporting new paediatric fittings.
Beyond your core clinical caseload, you will contribute to the ongoing evolution of the department through service development responsibilities, ensuring our pathways remain at the forefront of the profession.
Alongside our main site at St Thomas' we run clinics at our satellite sites in Gracefield Gardens (Lambeth), Sunshine House (Southwark) and Kaleidoscope (Lewisham). With the planned expansion of the service an additional satellite site location is being sought within Bromley, Bexley or Greenwich.
We are committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance and champion modern working patterns. The majority of our clinical team operates on a compressed four-day week (08:00–18:00). Typically, your week will be balanced between 2–3 days at St Thomas' and 1–2 days at a satellite clinic, offering a diverse and stimulating working environment.
