Our graduate program offers broad exposure to a complex NHS organisational structure with a qualification to support a management position within the Trust at the successful conclusion of the scheme.

As an operational manager in our Trust, you will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day presents new challenges. You’ll be at the heart of service delivery, working alongside front-line colleagues to solve problems and balance competing priorities to ensure the best possible care for our patients. This scheme will prepare you to take on an operational manager position in the NHS – we work 24/7, 365 days per year supporting our patients and their families.

Our two-year Graduate Programme involves two one-year placements: one focusing on operational management and the other on strategic planning.

You’ll receive mentorship from a senior leader at UHS who will guide you through the programme. In addition to the work-based experience, you will also complete a formal operational management qualification and leadership programme with one of our national training partners.
