You’ll learn to skillfully lead & manage people, projects & resources at pace & scale whilst supporting life changing outcomes for our patients.

You’ll develop on-the-job management skills & knowledge while on three distinct placements across MFT.

This pioneering initiative offers you an opportunity to develop in a range of key professional leadership & management areas - from strategy, innovation & change, to finance, leading & developing people & team management. The great news is, you’ll also be funded to study for a Master’s degree (MSc) in Leadership Practice (Healthcare Management).

You’ll have fantastic support along the way, both within the working environment and from our university partners.

Main duties of the job

  • With a minimum of 2:1 in any degree subject, you’ll preferably have previous work experience within the health or voluntary sector & the ability to show political awareness & an understanding of the NHS.
  • With strong analytical skills & the ability to consider wider organisational contexts & complex data/information, you’ll deliver & monitor against key performance indicators within the Trust.
  • Tenacious, with a high level of self-belief, drive and enthusiasm to achieve goals, you’ll identify & resolve operational issues that arise within the service & implement new or revised policies.
  • With an innovative approach & flexible attitude to work, you’ll support service improvement & innovation programmes.
  • Putting the patient at the heart of everything you do, you’ll respond to complaints appropriately within agreed timescales, on occasions meeting with the complaints manager & sometimes patients.
  • As an effective communicator with the ability to present written & verbal information to a high standard, you’ll work collaboratively with clinicians & clinical teams to help develop protocols & pathways to improve service delivery.
  • You’ll have both a willingness & potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills & behaviours to become a first class, resilient & inspirational General Manager & Leader.
