Are you a motivated and innovative Dietitian looking to specialise in gastroenterology within a supportive and forward‑thinking team? We are excited to invite applications for a Band 6 Gastroenterology Dietitian to join our service at the Great Western Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, providing high‑quality dietetic care to both inpatients and outpatients with a wide range of gastroenterology conditions. These include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, pancreatic disorders, liver disease, and coeliac disease. The successful candidate will deliver individual assessments and interventions, as well as group education sessions.
Whether you are an experienced Band 6 or a Band 5 Dietitian ready to progress, we welcome applications from individuals keen to develop their specialist practice within this area.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive dietetic team comprising Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants, a Dietetic Advanced Clinical Practitioner, and Nutrition Nurses, all supported by an excellent administration team. There are opportunities to be involved in—and lead—service development projects and audits, as well as contribute to teaching for the wider MDT and students. We offer excellent access to CPD, alongside peer support, and ongoing professional development.
The post holder(s) will work alongside other dietitians to provide and develop the dietetic service for patients with GI conditions in both the acute and community setting.
To work as a key part of the gastroenterology multidisciplinary and dietetic team and ensure continuous service development and promotion of the gastroenterology dietetic service. This is a split post across acute and community activity.
To work within agreed protocols and will use these protocols to give specialist advice without gaining consent from consultant.
