An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Forensic Inpatient Services at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, competent and innovative Service Manager to work in our inpatient medium and low secure services at Hellingly. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring high-quality person-centred care is delivered with effective financial, clinical and staff governance and a commitment to evidence based best practice.

You will work within a multidisciplinary setting which is responsible for promoting our clinical strategy and delivering high quality evidence-based practice across the secure forensic pathway, promoting treatment interventions through a trauma informed lens. The service is currently participating in 5 Quality & Improvement projects which you would have opportunity to support and develop.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To be responsible for a defined cluster of teams providing high quality services within the resources available. These teams are multi-disciplinary. Key areas of delivery are as follows:-

  • To work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to integrated (managerial/professional) leadership.
  • Achieve an agreed set of health and social care performance targets.
  • Provide services within the agreed financial resources and achieve all financial targets, including cost efficiency savings ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.
  • To contribute in the planning and delivery of service objectives, managing specific change projects as required, ensuring customer focus, consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Respond to Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs), complaints and communications, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, effective communication of recommendations and closely monitoring actions to ensure they are fully implemented
  • Identify risk and take corrective action in line with trusts integrated governance framework.
  • To promote and display via personal actions support for the Trust’s key policies on Equality and Diversity, Exemplar Employer and use of the recovery orientated approach for people with longer term problems
  • Deputises for the General Manager and colleagues as required.
