Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Fleet Compliance Officer within Fleet Operations.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting Fleet Operations across the entirety of NWAS, focusing on daily operational workshop compliance, Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice aligned with Health and Safety in our busy Fleet departments. Risk assessment, maintaining standards in line with Trust policies and guidelines together with accurate reporting is required during the critical maintenance of the Trust’s fleet of ambulances and the wellbeing of our workforce. Staff training, workplace reviews and maintenance of the training matrix together with coaching are a daily part of the role requirements.

Financial awareness when working with third party service providers is yet another element aligned with this key position.

Main duties of the job

The role offers wide and varied challenges relative to the requirements of the Trust and daily Fleet operational demands, providing support for the regional management and teams that make up a large, dedicated workforce, split across a 7-day shift pattern, ensuring our workshops continue to safely operate 365 days of the year.

The role of Fleet Compliance Officer reports to the Fleet Engineer Operations, and an elevated level of communication, business awareness and report writing skill sets will see daily interactions with Fleet Operations, NWAS Management and staff, Trade Union leads, Dealer networks, Vehicle Manufacturers, Third Party suppliers and other key stakeholders.

There will be a requirement to travel across the Trust, visiting associated workshops, consulting with each of the Area Service Managers and their associated workshop teams.

This is a pivotal role within NWAS Fleet Operations, and the successful applicant will need to successfully support a focused team in delivering the daily needs and exacting requirements in one of the UKs largest ambulance Trusts.

The role is Monday to Friday, covering a 37.5 hour working week. Annual leave is commensurate with the Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
