The RAT is part of the updated and expanded ED. It is a designated area where ED patients can be admitted and suitably managed under the care of ED consultants. There are four trolleys, four reclining chairs and two assessment cubicles areas. The area provides an opportunity to rapidly offload ambulance arrivals and initiate early senior lead management.
