An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Department at NHS Shetland as a Finance Assistant, working in a rotational role across key finance functions including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cashiering and related duties.

This varied and hands-on position offers the chance to gain experience across multiple aspects of finance while contributing directly to the effective delivery of healthcare services in Shetland.

Working as part of a supportive and knowledgeable team, you will be involved in essential financial processes within a complex and rewarding NHS environment. This role provides excellent opportunities to develop a broad and transferable skill set and is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career within NHS finance. A structured developmental pathway may be available for the right candidate.

The Finance Department at NHS Shetland plays a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care through strong financial governance and effective resource management. The department includes Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Procurement, and Patient Travel, offering valuable insight into the wider NHS system and how finance supports frontline services. The team is based at Board Headquarters in Montfield.
