We’re seeking enthusiastic Home Care Support Workers to support children with complex biopsychosocial needs related to excessive weight. You’ll help families make positive lifestyle changes while working as part of a multidisciplinary team—including specialist nurses, consultants, dietitians and psychologists—providing support in both clinic and community settings.

  • You’re confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside consultants, specialist nurses, psychologists and dietitians.
  • You bring excellent communication skills, GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C), and an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential. Please note that a provisional licence cannot be accepted.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Nurse Specialist Weight Management, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Support children, young people and families within the Specialist Paediatric CEW Service across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley.
  • Provide healthy eating guidance, health promotion and lifestyle advice.
  • Deliver support in clinics, during home visits and within community settings.
  • Work autonomously, managing your own workload while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Build effective relationships with families to encourage positive lifestyle changes.
