Job overview

As a Band 6 Physiotherapist within the Falls and Orthopaedic Early Supported Discharge Team, you will play a key role in assessing, managing, and preventing falls in a predominantly older adult population, alongside rehabilitating orthopaedic patients post-discharge. You will manage a varied caseload, including individuals with a history of falls and those presenting with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake comprehensive, patient-centred assessments to identify intrinsic and extrinsic fall risk factors such as balance, mobility, strength, cognition, and environmental influences. Using strong clinical reasoning, you will develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans to reduce fall risk, improve independence, and enhance quality of life.

A core aspect of the role includes assessment and treatment of BPPV, alongside providing clear education and advice to support self-management and reduce recurrence. You will work across community and outpatient settings, support junior staff and students, and contribute to audit and service development. Strong communication, organisational skills, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care are essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
