An exciting opportunity has arisen for a career committed professional to join the Estates & Facilities team at one of the UK’s leading Foundation Trusts.

We are seeking to increase the support to our existing Capital Projects & Development team appoint a self-starting professionally driven Project Officer to join our small but dynamic team.

You will be joining a professional & passionate team and you must be able to demonstrate a team ethos with the ability to be customer focused and put the patient experience first. This together with excellent communication and negotiation skills commensurate with the role, you will have a vital role to play in delivery of a wide range of projects.

You will have experience in supporting the delivery of multiple building and engineering capital projects ranging from small to medium refurbishments through to new build developments - all within occupied sites. We are ideally looking for a professionally qualified individual, or someone equivalent experience with proven track record in similar roles, managing projects from brief through to completion and experience of managing construction contractors and other construction professionals and advisors.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a self-starter and a driven, confident professional. You will be expected to work with our clients to obtain a thorough and often challenging brief and turn that into reality to time, cost and exceptional quality.

You should be able to respond quickly and flexibly to changing priorities and have excellent communication skills. There will be regular contact with other clinical and non-clinical colleagues at all levels.

With excellent customer care a given, you must be able deliver the requirements of the brief successfully. You will also be experienced and confident in dealing with external professionals such as Architects, Engineers and Surveyors, working together to provide an excellent service to the Trust and its staff.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous NHS Estates experience, but not essential. Having a proven track record in project management, managing building contractors and construction knowledge have or be working towards a degree qualification in a construction or project management biased discipline.

You must be able to manage projects from brief through to completion and ideally be an efficient user of AutoCAD and Microsoft based software products. The Trust is also keen to develop current and future projects using BIM and REVIT – corresponding experience would be a great advantage, but not essential.
