Job overview

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Estates team, the Estates Project Manager reports to the ‘Project Manager & Small Works Supervisor’. The role is responsible for the delivery and technical expertise of both major and minor capital development and maintenance backlog schemes in accordance with Trust standing Financial Instructions.

These schemes include projects resulting from the Trusts Estate Improvement and Rationalisation Programme and the Trusts annual Capital Development Programme across all Trust sites.

The post holder will be the Estates lead for delegated schemes from conception to completion following the RIBA Plan of Work stages.

The post holder will manage the Trust approved framework contracts, tendering and contractual delivery of schemes.

The post holder is expected to either hold or undertake training to become a Trust Authorised Person (AP) in a recognised HTM relevant to a specialised building and engineering technology used in the delivery of healthcare, offer technical guidance and responsible for the safe management of the system.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for management of delegated budgets for capital related budgets and reporting to Senior Estates Project Manager.
  • Manage capital projects from point of concept through to delivery including analysis of highly complex systems, contractor proposal reviews and arranging complex shut downs of clinical systems through negotiation.
  • The post takes the lead on delegated Capital projects and the coordination of actions required by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Carry out the duties of a Clerk of Works for Estates Projects .
