North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust requires a highly motivated, multi skilled, reliable and flexible Electrical Craftsperson to work as a key member of its Community Estates Team based at Carleton Clinic. The role is to undertake preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and repair work to a diverse range of systems for NCIC plus other healthcare provider’s sites that have a maintenance agreement with so that they are well maintained to ensure they are safe for the patients, staff and visitors who use them.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be involved in routine planned maintenance and repair work of the building and its services, plant and machinery, as well as fixtures and fittings

The applicant must have completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in an electrical discipline and be versatile due to the varied nature of the work, which will include specialist systems, fire alarms emergency lighting, nurse call, hot and cold water systems, heating systems, ventilation systems and medical gas pipeline systems.

The role of Electrical Craftsperson will be based on the Carleton Clinic site within Inglewood Building and be required to maintain buildings and services at various community hospitals, clinics and administration buildings predominately throughout North Cumbria. The applicant must be able to work under his/her own initiative and have good interpersonal skills both in working within the team as well as other staff areas ward areas and with members of the general public. The post is full time 37.5 hours Mon-Fri 8.00am to 4.00pm. The post holder will also be required to participate in an on call rota to provide out of hours cover.
