Job summary

Job Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Senior Clinical Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) within the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit one Senior ENP to lead our minor injuries service. The MIU is located at both the Leeds General Infirmary and St James University Hospital within the Emergency Department The post holder will be practicing as an independent specialist clinical practitioner providing patient centred and evidence based clinical care within an agreed scope of practice. The job holder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluations of care and the setting of standards of care. The job holder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The jobholder will support the effective use of resources and the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. as a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups patients and families/carers.

There is an opportunity to extend your clinical skills in reducing shoulder dislocations and wrist fracture's if not already competent. As a senior ENP it is expected that you will have undertaken a recognised Minor injury course, have a recognised Teaching and assessing qualification, have undertaken IRMER training and be competent to independently interpret x-rays.
