We are looking to recruit & train enthusiastic healthcare & administrative professionals with a keen interest in digital healthcare to our Electronic Health Record (EHR) team. The successful candidates will join an experienced & diverse team of analysts who support UCLH’s digital EHR. Patients are at the centre of everything we do. Our EHR, Epic, helps to ensure that we continue to get better at delivering services & treatment plans designed around patient needs. Our vision is to create a digitally enabled organisation that supports the delivery of efficient & effective patient care, achieved through easy-to-use systems that provide staff & patients with access to the right information, in the right place, at the right time.
This is an exciting time to join our team, with significant growth planned for the department. UCLH will be supporting the implementation of Epic for another NHS Trust & is therefore holding a dedicated recruitment drive. We are looking to hire analysts across a range of applications & have a range of roles on offer both within this new project & within our existing Epic teams aligned to UCLH.
We work closely with clinical, administrative & managerial staff, analysing their processes & helping them agree clinical best practice standards & workflows. We modify Epic to reflect & support these working practices. We test changes to ensure they fulfil organisation requirements, are safe, & work as expected. We provide end-user support using specialist application knowledge through regular meetings & incident investigation & resolution. We have excellent relationships with departmental leads, super-users & subject matter experts. We have a rolling upgrade programme which delivers new features & functionality.
Candidates already Epic certified will be employed at band 7. Otherwise, you will start at band 6 & undertake a period of training to obtain certification. You will progress to Band 7 when you achieve this & demonstrate competence via assessment across all role elements. You will be fully supported by your manager & team in this process.
Applicants without an Epic certification will be required to undertake an Epic aptitude assessment (the Sphinx test) prior to interview. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of NHS inpatient services, ideally some experience in using and/or configuring EHRs, & have enthusiasm to improve services through digital technology.
Post holders will need to spend at minimum one day on site per fortnight, depending on business need. This post would therefore be suitable for staff who are looking for hybrid opportunities
