Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner – Qualified

Women & Children’s Services | Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Women and Children’s team at Dr Gray’s Hospital at a pivotal moment in its redevelopment. Following the success of the Moray Maternity Project, Women and Children’s Services are being re‑established and expanded locally — and you could be part of shaping their future.

We are building a dynamic, blended workforce to deliver high‑quality, sustainable services for children, young people and families in Moray. As part of this vision, we are delighted to invite applications for a qualified Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) to join our growing service.

You will join an established and supportive APNP team, comprising both qualified practitioners and trainees, working collaboratively within Women and Children’s Services. Beyond paediatrics, you will be part of a large, integrated Advanced Practice community at Dr Gray’s Hospital, with ANPs embedded across Medicine, Stroke, Surgery, Orthopaedics and Haematology/Oncology. This model offers an exceptional environment for shared learning, peer support and professional growth.

As a qualified APNP, you will benefit from:

• Strong clinical supervision from the Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner and the wider ANP team
• Consultant‑led clinical supervision and mentorship
• Support to undertake role‑specific training modules to further enhance your paediatric practice
• Ongoing development through appraisal, revalidation and portfolio support
• Opportunities to contribute to service innovation and transformation as Women and Children’s Services continue to evolve

Applicants for the qualified post must provide a portfolio of evidence mapped to the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice, demonstrating ongoing clinical development. This should ideally be submitted prior to interview, or as a condition of appointment following a successful interview.

We welcome applications from:

• Nurses with a Paediatric and/or Neonatal background
• Nurses with an adult advanced practice qualification who can demonstrate significant experience working with children and young people, for example within Emergency or acute unscheduled care setting.
