We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Education and Workforce Development Support Officer (Apprenticeships) to join our Work-based Learning Team.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of apprenticeship programmes. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records, managing documentation, coordinating meetings and minutes, and handling queries from staff, learners, and external partners. You will work with various IT systems to produce reports, track progress, and ensure compliance with national apprenticeship standards.

This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key part in supporting the team and contributing to the Trust’s commitment to workforce development.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide administrative support to the Work-based Learning Team
  • Assist in delivering high-quality educational experiences for apprentices before and during their programme.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for apprenticeship programmes, including compliance with ESFA and Ofsted requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including learners, managers, and training providers.
  • Support the coordination of work experience and apprenticeship placements across the Trust.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and in line with data protection policies.
  • Use IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-portfolio platforms) to manage data and produce reports.
  • Respond to queries from staff, learners, and external partners promptly and professionally.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of apprenticeship processes and learner support services.
  • Ensure safeguarding principles are understood and applied in all aspects of the role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To be a key member of the Education and Workforce Development Team maintaining a wide corporate brief in line with the corporate agenda for Education and Workforce Development.
  • To assist the Apprenticeship Team in providing high quality educational experience both prior to becoming an apprentice and during the apprenticeship programme.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date apprenticeship data, with particular focus on starters, leavers and achievements.
  • To arrange work experience placements for a range of applicants in a wide range of roles, teams and departments
  • To maintain accurate records of work placements ensuring all attendance is correctly approved and relevant processes are completed
  • Be an effective part of the multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the EWD Manager, supporting and co-ordinating a number of key functions within the Apprenticeship Team including, Work Experience, joint working with key partners and operational and administrative support for the team and the apprenticeship programmes
  • To organise and service meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes.
  • To provide customer focussed support to the Apprenticeship Team
  • To work as a key member of the EWD team to ensure that the education needs of a multi-disciplinary team are met effectively at departmental and learner level.
  • To abide by Trust policies and procedure
