A rather unique opportunity has become available to join our fantastic Team at the Early Pregnancy Unit at Rose Hill. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Pregnancy Specialist Nurse the Team. Your role will be instrumental in providing expert and excellent support to women suffering with early pregnancy issues.

This role is ideal for a motivated, dynamic and experienced individual with a strong passion and interest for women's health and in particular early pregnancy care.

Main duties of the job

As Early Pregnancy Specialist nurse you will play a key role in supporting early pregnancy issues ( miscarriages, difficult diagnosis and emergencies), from providing clinical assessment via the Triage system to offering advice and assisting patients and their families during this difficult time.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary Team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to all patients accessing the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care and support for women in early stages of pregnancy, including assessment, diagnosis and management of conditions
  • Conduct assessment via Triage system and offer support for patients presenting with early pregnancy complications, included miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, early pregnancy bleeding.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families following diagnosis and prognosis
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with Early Pregnancy Doctors, nurse/midwifes sonographers and other professionals to deliver holistic care
  • Take responsibility for managing and prioritizing your own caseload, ensuring the efficient running of the early pregnancy service.
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement projects to enhanced patients care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Registered Nurse or Midwife qualification with active NMC registration
  • Significant experience working within women's health or a relevant clinical area
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in early pregnancy care. including ability to assess and manage effectively most common presentations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients through sensitive situations
  • the ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently as well as a part of the team
