Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced mental health nurse, occupational therapist or social worker to join the York and Selby Early Intervention in Psychosis team as a senior practitioner. You will be joining a high performing, committed and supportive team working with people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Our senior practitioners manage a caseload of up 20 delivering psychologically informed interventions and case management alongside a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, family therapist, CBT therapists, clinical specialists and occupational therapists. You will also support the assessment and duty function of the team. We cover a large geographical area including Selby, Tadcaster, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, the centre of York and surrounding areas. There is a requirement to be able to independently travel the locality.

Nursing candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for your own caseload including care planning, safety planning and delivering psychologically informed interventions, which will include working with families and carers. EIP teams across the Trust offer a comprehensive package of training to all clinicians to enable you to deliver the highest standard of care. You will also be trained to carry out specialist assessments for people with a first episode psychosis. Support and supervision is built into the working week and you will have access to clinical, managerial and caseload supervision as well as more specialist offers such as a reflecting teams space supported by our dedicated family therapist.
