Job overview

There are two posts available within the Driver Training Unit: 1 x Melbourn HQ and 1 x Bury Hub.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of driver training within the regulations of the Driver Training Unit. This includes the delivery of all driver education and remedial training to all staff inclusive of clinical and management grades within the Trust.

The post holder will support the Education Manager for Driver Training and Driver Trainers in the implementation of the Trusts educational strategic plan in relation to driving and other education delivery appropriate to the role.

Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication are essential, as building and maintaining positive relationships with our external providers and stakeholders is a key part of this role.

The unit provides driver education, training and assessment to staff from throughout the six counties which make up the Trust. We are looking to expand the team with qualified tutors who have a proven track record of delivering the Futurequals Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver both emergency and non-emergency driving education, inclusive of high-speed driving assessments.   Ensuring that all requirements for the awarding and accrediting bodies are adhered to and maintained to ensure compliance with relevant standards, directives, and policies.  The post holder will deliver both within the education centres, and in an operational setting – in accordance with the Trust’s needs.

The post holder will be responsible for an individual portfolio of education (non-driving), such as; Conflict Resolution, Corporate Induction, Statutory and Mandatory Training etc. throughout the Trust and to provide subject matter expertise as allocated by the Education Manager for Driver Training

The post holder will deliver both within the education centres, and in an operational setting – in accordance with the Trust’s needs.

The post holder will be the subject matter expert within a driving setting. Work within framework of curriculum to ensure safety maintained and appropriate parameters are met. Ability to use discretion to ensure standards are met.
