Salary Scale:

£34,494 – 42,977 per annum pro rata

Contract Type:

12-month secondment / fixed term. Should you be applying for a secondment please bring a copy of approval from your current NHS Line Manager to your interview.

Roster

Monday – Friday. There may be a requirement for you to provide ad-hoc cover during weekends or public holidays, however, this will be discussed as and when required with your Line Manager.

Mainly office hours however a degree of flexibility is required to provide support across 24/7 service. Reduced working week hours to be discussed at interview.

Ninewells Hospital. There may be a requirement for you to work throughout Dundee Locality, however, this would be discussed in advance with your Line Manager.

The Domestic Services Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Domestic Services Team Leader to cover a period of 12 months maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide effective day‑to‑day management of Domestic Services across the Dundee Locality, ensuring the delivery of a high‑quality, efficient cleaning service. This includes direct responsibility for staff attendance, conduct and performance, service delivery issues, and maintaining quality standards within challenging financial constraints.

This role requires a high degree of initiative and the ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of NHS cleaning services, alongside experience in managing a large and diverse staffing group.

Key Requirements:

  • Knowledge of workforce planning including rotas, scheduling work and recruitment.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good PC skills including Microsoft software systems and have the ability to train colleagues on how to operate these systems.
  • Ability to respond constructively to unpredictable or challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through experience.
  • Extensive junior or supervisory management experience, with a clear focus on staff management and service delivery.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of HR related policies, procedures and practices.

Additional Information:

  • There may be a requirement to travel across multiple sites, some of which are in remote locations. Therefore, the post holder must have the ability to travel.
