Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Divisional Quality Governance Lead to provide senior leadership across the Surgical Division, supporting high-quality, safe and effective patient care.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Divisional Director of Quality and Nursing – Surgery, you will lead the delivery of the quality governance, patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience agenda across the Surgical Division.

You will:

Lead and oversee divisional quality governance systems and risk management

Continue to support the embedding of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF)

Chair governance meetings and produce high-quality reports and assurance

Lead incident learning, audit and quality improvement activity

Support CQC readiness and national safety requirements

Work closely with divisional leaders, corporate quality teams and external partners

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be a registered healthcare professional with significant senior leadership experience in an acute NHS setting and a strong background in quality, safety and clinical governance.

Essential:

Healthcare-related degree and Master’s level qualification (or equivalent experience)

Current professional registration (e.g. NMC/HCPC)

Experience of clinical governance, risk management and PSIRF

Excellent communication, leadership and report-writing skills
