Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Administrator to join our Discharge Team and Transfer of Care Hub Team. The post holder will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to assist and support the Operations Directorate ensuring the delivery of a high quality service. This will require the utilisation of good clerical, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Operations multidisciplinary team in their day-to-day work
  • Acts as point of contact with all levels of staff and outside agencies.
  • Use independent judgement within procedural guidelines to manage the day-to-day running of the Operations team.
  • Provide comprehensive accurate input of patient data into patient databases for reporting and to assimilate reports and data relating to patient discharges for BI and NHSE.
  • The timely distribution of updated patient information for ward requirements and multidisciplinary team meeting purposes.
  • To answer incoming telephone calls from either internal or external sources professionally and in accordance with the Trust IG guidelines.
  • To be able to complete tasks unsupervised and to manage conflicting priorities in a time pressured environment.
  • To complete when requested ad-hoc reports in a timely manner.
  • To arrange and manage external training projects relevant to changing discharge processes.
  • To support the senior discharge administrator with urgent patient requests, complaints and patient admission timelines.
  • To support the Head of Emergency Planning with minute taking and admin tasks.
  • The post holder will require excellent typing, clerical, communication and interpersonal skills. Tasks should be completed to specified time scales and standards.
  • The post holder will be competent in the  use of IT programmes, such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Teams and Patient Action Tracker.
