The Specialist Dietitian is responsible for the provision of a specialist dietetic assessment, advice and counselling service to a caseload of patients who have been treated on our wards (at Russells Hall or Ridge Hill) . They will be required to participate in regular MDT meetings,
Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist dietetic assessment support and expert dietary advice based on clinical evidence to complex patients.
- To manage your own caseload as an autonomous practitioner.
- To arrange continuing care as necessary in an appropriate setting or by telephone, to facilitate understanding and dietary compliance.
- To provide cover to the general & acute wards during staff shortage.

- To take the lead in providing dietetic advice to relevant multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) through attendance and participation in MDT team meetings
- Discharge planning meetings.
- Home Enteral feeding meetings
To calculate and monitor artificial feeding regimens. To adapt them in line with oral intake.
