Job overview

We are delighted to offer an exciting career opportunity in the Manchester Eating Disorders Service, for a permanent, part-time dietitian (16.5 hours per week). We are an adult community eating disorders service, which provide assessment, support and treatment for people who have mild to severe eating disorders, within Manchester, as well as offering support for their loved ones.

It is an exciting period of change in the service, after being successful in receiving new funding to expand the team, which will help us to transform the way we work with people who experience eating difficulties in Manchester. The role has been created as part of this expansion, to increase dietetic provision in the team. The post holder will work closely and be supervised by our advanced dietitian in the service, and be supported by other member of our MDT.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working as a dietitian within mental health settings. Experience of working in eating disorders is desirable, but not essential, as training and support will be provided. The right candidate will be someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about working with this client group, is confident in working autonomously, as well as contributing and supporting the wider MDT.

Main duties of the job

The role will include offering individual dietetic assessments and treatment as part of an MDT care plan, facilitating groups, as well as working alongside other members of the team.

The role will also include offering group dietetic support for our clients, supporting and training team members in dietetic and nutritional advice, providing consultation and liaison to other teams and agencies as appropriate, and supporting the evaluation and development of dietetic support in the team.
