Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a national and international centre of excellence. An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team as a Development Lead  Clinical Physiologist in Cardiac Rhythm Management for a fixed 12-month period. You  will be someone who is willing to challenge themselves and others in a paediatric environment by leading the development and implementation of training programmes. They will act  as an expert resource within the team whilst inspiring and enabling others to do the same. This position will review, amend and develop practices to positively advance patient diagnosis, management and follow up ensuring a gold standard of service within clinical physiology.  We would welcome an adult trained CRM physiologist looking to gain some experience in paediatric CRM. A recruitment and retention enhancement of 10% is offered for this position plus HCA.

Main duties of the job

  • Able to perform all types of cardiac device follow-up including pacemakers, ICDs, CRT and implantable loop recorders
  • Be part of the remote monitoring service including ensuring all patients are adequately followed up and contacting disconnected monitors
  • §  To develop and lead the delivery of an Operational Education Plan ensuring the education, training and continuing development of cardiac physiology staff is planned and delivered effectively  §  Actively working to improve retention of trained staff within the team by developing a diverse structure that enables growth and progression §  Ensure that induction, education and continuing professional development programs for trained cardiac physiologists within the arrhythmia team are fully implemented and that effective review and evaluation systems are in place  §  Maintain a good working relationship with the divisional education teams, corporate education teams, academic partners, professional bodies and organisations
