Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (OSRU)  is looking to recruit a new Deputy Ward Manager on a 9 month fixed term contract to join our wonderful supportive and friendly team, this is a maternity cover position.

You will be passionate about supporting and leading on our nursing team’s professional and clinical development to enable them to develop and advance within their roles whilst being a proactive role model to influence and support, therefore excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced Nurse, you will be part of the Senior Ward Team, assisting the Ward Manger and working collaboratively with the Clinical Development Nurse and other Deputy Ward Managers to ensure a high-quality patient focused service is provided.

Our inpatient ward provides rehabilitation care along with more advanced sub-acute nursing skills and complex discharge planning.

We believe in developing our staff and have training opportunities available to help you nourish and grow in this role. Our team values everyone’s contributions and we are always looking at new initiatives to help our patient’s recovery.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Leading the registered and unregistered nursing staff in support of their professional development and in the promotion of best practice. Ensuring that a responsive high-quality patient focused service is delivered.

Working effectively and in partnership with key members of the Multidisciplinary Team in the hospital and locality to promote and facilitate effective patient care and discharge.
