Are you passionate and committed about making a difference to women, people and families accessing maternity care? This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, self-motivated, experienced band 6 midwife to work as a member of the maternity team as a deputy public health midwife, on a secondment for up to 12 months.
We are looking for someone with drive and a passion for public health to work within the small, friendly team. As the deputy public health midwife, you will work as part of the maternity and wider public health team to improve maternal and infant health outcomes and deputise for the specialist midwife. The role focuses on the sharing of public health messages through different methods of communication, reducing health inequalities, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting families through targeted interventions. The post holder will deliver evidence-based care using national, regional and local guidance, provide specialist advice, support the immunisation programmes within maternity services and contribute to the development of health information, antenatal education and digital resources within maternity services. We need someone who is motivated, flexible, positive about public health, and who is keen to further develop their knowledge and skills.
To deliver midwifery care in public health across the maternity services, ensuring families receive evidence-based support and information. The post holder will champion LTHTR’s commitment to public health standards, support education and training of staff, contribute to audit and quality improvement, and promote safe, personalised care plan for families.
You must always act in a manner that upholds the Trust’s values and Nursing and Midwifery profession framework goals, working as part of a team to ensure that women and relatives receive excellent care with compassion.
You will have good attention to detail, supportiveness & empathy skills and will inspire confidence and promote our services to the women and families that you are supporting.
