An exciting opportunity has risen for Deputy Operations Directors in OGN Directorate.

This post holder will be professionally accountable to the Operations Director, with a specific remit that will be agreed and reviewed according to the priorities across the care group.

The role will primarily focus on:

Embedding an improvement approach to the way the Care Group (OGN) is led.

Providing senior leadership and management support to the Directorate leadership teams.

Formally deputising for the Operations Director.

Supporting the Directorate management teams in all aspects of business and service management in order to achieve the activity levels, quality and performance standards.

Ensure and model best practice in relation to the management of the day to day operational services with a focus on process improvement, standardisation across services and the use of business intelligence.

Main duties of the job

Lead and manage the Care Group in partnership with the Clinical Director and Midwifery Director whilst sustaining effective working relationships with the consultant medical staff, and senior midwifery/nursing team.

Responsible for ensuring that the operational and financial requirements of the Care Group are effectively managed and co-ordinated.

Work with the Management Team to formulate and agree business plans, capacity plans and objectives including delivery of P&E.

Develop patient focused services, identifying future financial, capital and workforce requirements and ensuring that contractual, financial and performance targets are met.

Manage processes to monitor activity and financial performance and take corrective action as required.

Responsible for the provision of user-friendly, relevant and timely data to clinical and non-clinical teams to challenge current service delivery, improve performance, and map performance against agreed metrics.

Implement and develop frameworks to support continuous improvement and innovation, delivering efficient and effective care pathways to improve patient outcomes and minimise hospital stay.
