Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Deputy Divisional Lead Pharmacist for Surgery and Critical Care.

This post provides a developmental pathway for an experienced clinical pharmacist to build advanced clinical and leadership capability within high‑acuity surgical and critical care environments. The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Lead Pharmacist to support delivery of a high‑quality, safe, and effective pharmacy service across surgery and critical care.

A key element of the role is structured training to provide clinical cover to Critical Care, with appropriate senior support. The post holder will be trained to participate in daily multidisciplinary ward rounds (Monday to Friday) and micro‑rounds, contributing to medicines optimisation for critically ill patients.

The role also includes leadership, governance, education, and service‑development responsibilities, supporting progression within the RPS Professional Standards and Advanced Pharmacy Framework.
