Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and committed Theatre Practitioners to undertake the role of Deputy Clinical Lead for Scrub (Orthopaedic speciality) at Main Theatres, Princess of Wales Hospital.

We are excited to share that CTMUHB has recently established a new Arthroplasty Pathway in Princess of Wales Hospital,  supporting our elective Orthopaedic patients within the Health board as we strive to tackle long waiting times and provide an efficient service for our community.

This is a pivotal role in our Theatre Practitioner and Management structure to provide support and leadership to the team and to drive forward innovative service change in partnership with the Multidisciplinary Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and a wide knowledge of Elective and Trauma Orthopaedic services. You will work in collaboration with a fellow Deputy Clinical Leads and dynamic Practitioner team.  This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual with inspirational leadership skills and an appetite for clinical theatre work, developing staff and delivery of safe and excellent care. The post holder will work in close conjunction with the Orthopaedic Clinical Leads, providing  advice, support and leadership.

You will be required to demonstrable success in a management and a clinical role and provide evidence of your credibility and capability during the interview process.  You must be able to motivate and engage others to ensure that the services we provide supports the HB values, as well as having a pioneering approach that is not afraid to challenge convention and traditional ways of working.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see ‘Welsh Language Guidance’ in the documents right at the bottom.
