Job overview

We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious pharmacy leader to join MFT as Deputy Chief Pharmacist – Operations and Performance.

This is a high-impact senior leadership role within one of the largest and most progressive NHS Trusts in the UK, where data, systems and innovation support the delivery of high-quality care at scale.

Working in close partnership with the Chief Pharmacist, you will lead the operational performance, productivity and value agenda for pharmacy, ensuring services are safe, effective and consistently delivering against Trust and national priorities.

This role offers a significant opportunity to shape and deliver modern pharmacy services across multiple sites, using robust performance frameworks and insight to drive measurable improvement.

We are looking for a visible and credible leader who brings clarity, pace and operational grip, and who is motivated by delivering tangible improvements for patients, staff and the organisation.

Main duties of the job

Provide senior leadership for the operational delivery of pharmacy services across MFT

Lead the performance management framework, including KPIs, reporting and assurance

Oversee productivity, financial performance and medicines value programmes, delivering measurable efficiencies

Maintain strong operational grip across workforce, capacity and service delivery

Lead delivery of transformation programmes to improve quality, performance and patient outcomes

Ensure robust governance, risk management and regulatory compliance

Provide assurance on performance and delivery to the Chief Pharmacist and Trust governance structures

Work collaboratively with clinical groups, corporate teams and system partners
