Job summary

Main duties of the job

Providea wide range of primary dental care for patients including children, people with disabilities, older people and those referred by general dental practitioners. Provide dental care in the domiciliary setting for patients who are housebound. Provide treatment in the clinic with local anaesthetic or inhalation sedation.

As required provide dental care in hospital under general anaesthesia for patients who cannot have their treatment provided in the clinic.

Travel is an essential part of the role and the successful applicant could be asked to support services in any of the services Cheshire and Merseyside locations.

Adhere to department and professional standards/protocols without direct supervision.Comment on department policies and propose changes to departmental working practices orproceduresas necessary. Keep full and contemporaneous dental records of treatment carried out.

Access communication from the Trust and from the department via e-mail.

Complete FP17 forms for patients anddeterminewhich band the course of treatment falls into. Organise the collection of patient charges and report any bad debtors to the Head of Dental services.

Support the Clinical Director tomaintainhealth and safety and security within the department, reporting risks and takingappropriate actionasrequired.

Participate in audit and peer review asrequired.
