A 12 months fixed term position for a Dental Officer working in an award winning special care community dental service.

This fixed term post will include routine clinical and domiciliary care, with the view to develop into a permanent position. Your patients will include children, young people and adults who require special care due to their possible learning and physical disabilities, mental health problems or medical conditions. You will also see anxious children age 6 and under. The service prides itself on providing outstanding quality care including treatment under inhalation and IV sedation as well as general anaesthetic.
The post holder will be based at the wonderful newly refurbished dental clinic at Cheshunt Community Hospital. The clinic has excellent sedation facilities as well as a sensory room for patients and offers consultant led special care dentistry for a variety of special needs children and adults.
There is also an exciting opportunity for a position within our brand new dental clinic at Queensway Health Centre, Hatfield. Our Hatfield clinic offers rewarding and interesting work supporting many complex special care patients who are living in areas of high deprivation and experiencing health inequalities.
We will consider full time or part time with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Please note this is a fixed term position for 12 months, with the view to make permanent.

The role involves the provision of oral health care to priority groups including people with learning disabilities, physical difficulties/disabilities, mental health problems, medically compromised, homeless patients, and any other priority groups agreed with the commissioners.
Services provided include sedation and general anaesthesia, domiciliary care and provision of oral health care.
