Applications are invited for the role of Dental Nurse Technician to join the Dental Education Team in the Education Centre, RSFT. This post would suit a candidate with dental knowledge/experience, familiar with a variety of dental procedures (GDC registration preferred but is not essential to the role).
Working closely with the Dental Manager, the post holder will assist with the facilitation of the delivery of dental training programs, including but not limited to dental foundation and continuing professional development. The post holder will be responsible for providing expert technical support to ensure the effective delivery of multi-professional and post-graduate dental simulation education.

1.1 Provide administrative support to the Dental Manager requiring the exchange of information on a variety of matters and procedures relating to the training programme.
1.2 Assist Manager in interpreting complex information from Health Education England Dental Team relating to training delivery, ensuring that appropriate action is made.
Analytical and judgement skills
1.3 Assist manager with enquiries from Dental trainees, the regional Training Programme Director, the Health Education England Dental Team, external trainers and internal RSCH staff, analysing the information received to resolve issues relating to courses being run, centre availability, equipment availability, etc.
Planning and organisational skills
1.4 Assist manager in planning and organising varied dental training events taking place in the Dental Skills Room, including Dental Foundation teaching days and Accent CPD courses for General Dental Practitioners and Dental Care professionals. This requires the post holder to co-ordinate with a range of agencies, adjusting plans as required following information received from the regional Training Programme Director, the Health Education England Dental Team, individual trainers and administration teams across KSS. For each course, the post holder will be required to plan ahead to assist with contacting the trainers for each course (a different trainer for each training day), understand the teaching requirements and the complex range of equipment required, and ensure that all equipment is ordered and delivered to the Dental Skills Centre in time. Events and timetables can be added, changed and cancelled at short notice, requiring the re-formulation of plans.
1.5 Set up and organise the Dental Skills Centre for teaching and training as required, and reset the centre following activities, ensuring that all equipment, including IT and dental simulation equipment is ready for the next session.
1.6 Design materials and resources to support the work of the trainers.
1.7 Assist manager in co-ordinating course marketing and external advertising for CPD courses, providing support at out-of-hours events if required.
Policy and service development
1.8 Assist the manager to set up, introduce and put into practice policies and standard operating procedures for the use of the Dental Skills Centre, including policies for the safe use of all equipment. Be pro-active in reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of policies, making changes as the use of the Centre develops.
