Deep Clean Housekeeper

Working across Trust sites

Monday to Friday 0800-1600

This is a new and exciting role within the Facilities Housekeeping team and will be supporting in the deep cleaning of all in-patients sites across the Trust. You will be required to work at all hospital sites on a periodic basis and sometimes at short notice so being able to arrange your own travel across the Black Country is imperative. Housekeeping provides services throughout the whole year. Candidates will be required to be flexible when there are service requirements and for training and personal development.

Main duties of the job

This role will involve the cleaning of all surfaces including fixtures and fittings, patient/clinical equipment and will require the use of ladders. There is an element of the role where the successful candidate will be required to remove light fittings, radiator covers and ventilation grilles using tools supplied by the Trust.

Full training in all areas of the role will be given.

You will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to support the Estates & Facilities Department. Reporting to the Deep Clean Facilities Supervisor for all other aspects of their role including personnel line management.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To ensure the environment is cleaned to national standards
  • Bed Making
  • Curtain Changing
  • Cleaning medical/hard equipment
  • Report maintenance issues
  • Remove and clean light fitting covers, radiator covers and vents where accessible to allow for cleaning

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work within the Trust Facilities Management structure to ensure that the housekeeping service supports the clinical colleagues and ensures it integrates with Nursing in its provision of care and specifically infection, prevention and control. Key skills here include the ability to work in an effective and efficient manner whilst integrating and supporting the Facilities services within the clinical teams at the location. Critical to the success of the role shall be the providing of a service that is safe, efficient and which delivers a quality environment in a timely manner that promotes the health and well-being of the service users and which is in line with the Dept. of Health, CQC, PLACE & NHS standards throughout the whole organisation. You will enhance the patient’s experience by ensuring that the clinical environment is presented and maintained in a way which maximises the patient’s sense of comfort, safety, and well-being.
