We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic and highly specialized Cardiac Physiologist/Clinical Scientist to lead and develop our CRM/Electrophysiology and Invasive service here at UHCW Trust.
UHCW is one of the largest acute Trust’s in the country. With 17 Cardiology Consultants, we provide World Class innovation and research in all aspects of Cardiology.
Performing over 700 EP/Ablation procedures per year including, 3D mapping, Cryo, PFA, SVT EPS, and a substantial VT Ablation Service. As well as more than 500 Pacing/ICD and 250 ILR procedures.
AT UHCW we are proud to be involved in ongoing research in the field of CRM and EP, this allows us early use of new technologies and procedures. Our Catheter Suite provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services; PPCI/PCI, TAVI, Right and Left heart Cath, structural closures/repairs, Complex device implantation and extraction.
We anticipate future service developments which will include advanced physiologist led clinics, with a Physiologist Led VT clinic already in operation, alongside a Joint Physiologist and Heart failure Nurse Optimization clinic.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Reporting to the Head of Department for Cardiac Investigations, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team of Cardiac Physiologists, driving innovation, recruitment and developing Cardiac Physiologist led services.
This is a full-time role with clinical and on-call responsibilities.
To work clinically as a highly specialist practitioner across the range of EP, CRM and invasive procedures performed in the Department of Cardiac Investigation (DCI) and the Catheter Lab, furthermore, to provide operational management support to the DCI manager/Chief Clinical Physiologist for the specified area within Cardiac Investigations.
To actively contribute to service developments and expansion, taking part in Audits, Capacity and Demand planning and supporting business case developments.
To manage both the EP and CRM cardiac physiologists, participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives, including the required attendance of national and departmental meetings and nationally accredited courses.
To manage financial budget and ensure adequate stock levels of consumables are maintained, to ensure effective utilization of resources and continual service delivery.
Ensure full BHRS/IBHRE accreditation is maintained for self and team.
To support the Cardiology Operational Management Team in development and adherence of protocols and procedure guidelines, to ensure compliance with Trust/Operational requirements.
We actively support the training of new cardiac physiologists, specialist registrars, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team as well as our own staff, we hold regular MDT meetings for interesting case review or when there is ambiguity, providing further training opportunities. The department encourages and supports research, educational development and attendance and participation at local and national meetings.
