We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Critical Care Therapy MDT at Treliske Hospital in Truro.

This post will work alongside a part time Band 7 Occupational Therapist colleague, part time Band 6 Occupational Therapist and Band 4 Therapy Support Worker, delivering assessment and intervention to the critical care unit, with some follow up to patients transitioning to other wards.

The post sits within the Therapies MDT for critical care, which includes Physiotherapists, Dietitians and Speech and Language Therapists. The role involves close working with Nursing, Medical and Psychologist colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Job Overview

To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service.

To maintain an agreed case load within in the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as an autonomous practitioner.

To undertake line manager duties for the team.

To work alongside the AHP Urgent Care Manager, Therapy Lead and the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
