We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join the Pencarrow team. This role will primarily support the smooth running of the unit through housekeeping and stores responsibilities, helping to ensure the clinical environment is clean, safe and well stocked to support quality patient care.
Working as part of our Critical Care team, you will play an important role in maintaining bedspaces, managing stock and equipment, and supporting high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention across the unit. Your contribution will help ensure the unit remains organised, safe and ready to care for patients.

To assist in ensuring that the critical care environment is maintained to the highest standard To assist in ensuing the appropriate equipment and stock are in place to ensure smooth running of the critical care unit. To ensure all bedspaces are cleaned and restocked to ensure timely patient flow through the unit. To provide support to the nursing team on the unit
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY CLINICAL · To clean and re-stock bed-spaces in a timely manner ready for patient admission. · To decontaminate medical devices between patients and return to appropriate store area. · To deep clean medical equipment on a daily basis (For example: ABG machine, ECG machine, BS box, Ultra Sound Scanner and commodes). · Under take daily check and stocking up of the clinical trollies (for example, Airway, Lines and Top Up trollies). · Responsible for monitoring and ordering of linen, ensuring adequate supply including supplies of work wear to the Critical Care changing rooms. · To ensure clinical, storage and non-clinical areas within Critical Care are clean, tidy and safe. · To monitor and assist in ordering stock as appropriate to ensure available at all times. · To assist in ensuring that the critical care medical devices are in good working order, clean, routinely serviced and charged ready for use. · To assist in the co-ordination and to facilitate the deep clean of all Critical Care beds on a rotational basis. · To assist in the identification, decontamination of faulty equipment and return to Clinical Engineering for repair in a timely fashion, and as per Trust policy. · To assist in the monitoring and maintaince infection control standards. · To be available to run errands and other non-clinical and clinical tasks. ADMINISTRATIVE · To assist in the care of patients property and valuables according to PHT policy. · Adhering to the guidelines of the Health & Safety at Work Act. To report accidents or incidents involving patients or visitors to nurse in charge
